Mission
The Trustees of The RE Ross Trust will direct the Trust's resources to areas of the highest priority need where there is the greatest potential for impact.
The R E Ross Trust statement of commitment
The Trust will direct resources towards projects and other activities that:
- Address disadvantage and inequity.
- Encourage and promote community and individual health and wellbeing; and
- Protect and preserve Australian flora and fauna.
The Trust recognises that disadvantage and inequity is influenced by social and economic determinants such as; financial and material disadvantage, housing, employment, social support, addiction, food, peace, transport and the environment*.
The Trust will direct resources towards projects and other activities that address these factors and that will encourage and promote community and individual health and wellbeing.
In working towards its mission the Ross Trust recognises grant making should be balanced between meeting the immediate and basic needs of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable in the community and long term investment in efforts to overcome and understand the causes and contributing factors to social and economic disadvantage.
